Perspectives of Sound in Piano Recordings/Microphoning
A wide range of grand and upright pianos is available for radio and recorded music productions. How well can the sound be reproduced using the relevant microphone types? What technical intervention options are available to the sound engineer, and is intervention permitted to achieve a "more authentic than real" reproduction?

After a brief technical introduction, the workshop will listen to and discuss selected piano recordings on reference loudspeakers. Christoph C. Stechbart will share his 30 years of classical music experience in recorded music and broadcast recordings.
