This seminar presents an innovative piano action technology based on compliant joint mechanisms. By employing flexible elements, it offers a novel alternative to conventional pivot joints. The project explores new possibilities in terms of performance, stability, manufacturing, and material application, aiming to contribute to the further development of piano actions. Using a restored 1920s grand piano as a functional prototype, the event demonstrates the current state of development of the concept, including findings from tests and initial results. The presentation highlights potential applications in the piano industry and invites technicians, manufacturers, musicians, and researchers to participate in critical discussions and provide feedback.
